Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation - West Orange was the #1 Ranked U.S. Hospital in Medicare Discharge Volume Last Year for Intracranial Hemorrhage or Cerebral Infarction

A recent Dexur study analyzed DRG-065 (Intracranial Hemorrhage Or Cerebral Infarction With Complication Or Comorbidity Or TPA In 24 Hours) Medicare discharge data for all U.S. hospitals between January - December 2016 and found that Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation - West Orange in northern New Jersey accounted for 554 discharges, the most of any U.S. hospital. The 2nd ranked hospital, also located in northern New Jersey, was JFK Medical Center in Edison where 392 discharges were reported. The only other U.S. hospital to account for over 300 DRG-065 discharges during the analyzed time period was 3rd ranked Christiana Hospital in Delaware. These facilities are all in close proximity to one another as the three fall within a 100-mile radius.
