Oklahoma Heart Hospital Averaged a 30-Day Episode of Care LOS less than a Week for Medicare Patients with Cardiac Valve and Other Cardiothoracic Procedures

Recent analysis performed by Dexur showed that Oklahoma Heart Hospital was the only hospital in Oklahoma to have an average length of stay for a 30-day episode of care from all readmissions as well as just unplanned readmissions under 7 days. Following this lowest average LOS with unplanned readmissions in the state was INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center, which was the only other facility with at least one metric below one week with an average LOS for a 30-day episode of care at 6.49 days. Hillcrest Medical Center ranked 3rd overall for 30-day episode of care average LOS with unplanned readmissions at 7.12 days and Oklahoma Heart Hospital South Campus came in with an average LOS of 7.24 days, ranking 4th. Finally, Saint Francis Hospital ranked 5th with an average LOS for a 30-day episode of care with unplanned readmissions at 7.32 days. These five hospitals had the lowest average LOS in the state and were the only in the state to be below the national and state averages, as well as under 7.5 days.
