Conway Medical Center Psychoses Discharges: 6.29 Day Rate for a 30-Day Episode of Care is the Lowest in South Carolina and Under Half of the State Average

Conway Medical Center in Conway accounted for the lowest 30-day episode of care average length of stay (LOS) with unplanned readmissions for psychoses out of all South Carolina hospitals at 6.29 days between 2013-2016, according to a Dexur analysis of Medicare inpatient claims data from CMS. Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach ranked 2nd at 6.73 days and these two hospitals were the only facilities in South Carolina with an average LOS for a 30-day episode of care under 8 days throughout the four year period. Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston ranked 3rd at 8.11 days, The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg ranked 4th at 8.21 days and McLeod Darlington, located in Darlington, ranked 5th at 8.5 days. Every other hospital in South Carolina had a 30-day episode of care average LOS of 9 days or higher for the condition.
