Dexur analysis revealed that between January 2016 and December 2016, there were three Pennsylvania hospitals with an average payment over $2,900 per patient day. Temple University Hospital ranked first, averaging $3,273 per patient day. Hospital of University of Pennsylvania and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center were ranked 2nd and 3rd for highest payment per patient day. Payment per patient day refers to the average revenue for each day an individual patient is admitted in the hospital, and is a crucial measure of the utilization of medical services from a financial and administrative perspective.
