Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Kentucky had a 4.1 day average length of stay (LOS) for a 30-day episode of care with unplanned readmissions for Medicare cholecystectomy discharges between 2013-2016, the lowest rate in the state, according to an analysis by Dexur. This rate was roughly 1 day lower than both the national average of 5.08 days as well the 5.11 day average for Kentucky Medicare enrollees. St. Elizabeth Florence, located in Florence, ranked 2nd at 4.2 days. Saint Joseph London in London and T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow tied for 3rd at 4.24 days, while Baptist Health Corbin in Corbin ranked 5th at 4.43 days.
