Physicians at Advocate Heart Institute at ACMC performs the most surgeries and cardiac procedures in the state, solely providing care for patients with cardiovascular concerns as they have extensive facilities to treat a myriad of conditions using advanced and innovative procedures. They boast the most experience in the state treating coronary artery disease with over 1,300 open heart surgeries performed every year. Dr. Patroklos Steven Pappas, Dr. Ashraf H Abourahma, and Dr. Antone John Tatooles are within the top 15 overall in Illinois, accounting for 0.54% of all cardiovascular procedures. Our Dexur analysts found that these three physicians in particular had among the highest Medicare inpatient discharge volume in the state, which can be seen in the data below.
