Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center had Fewer than 10% of Major Small and Large Bowel Procedures Discharged to SNFs, the Lowest in Nevada

Dexur conducted a study on Nevada hospitals and found that Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center had the lowest percentage of SNF discharges for DRG-329 between 2013 and 2016 at 9.57%. This metric was nearly 5% lower than the Nevada state measure for DRG-329 and nearly 20% lower than the national percentage. For this particular DRG, Nevada hospitals as a whole had a much lower percentage of discharges to SNFs than the national rate by 12.33%. There were two other Nevada hospitals with SNF discharge rates below both the state and national metrics: MountainView Hospital and Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. The 2nd ranked MountainView Hospital saw 9.77% of DRG-329 patients discharged to SNFs. Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center, which ranked 3rd, was the only other major Nevada hospital to have a SNF discharge rate below state and national metrics at 16%.
