Dexur conducted an analysis on Medicare inpatient discharges with psychoses from 2013 to 2016 and found that Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - All Saints had the lowest skilled nursing facility (SNF) discharge rate out of major Wisconsin hospitals. During the four-year time period, they only discharged 1.06% of all Medicare psychoses inpatients to SNFs. Wheaton Franciscan - All Saints was one of four hospitals in Wisconsin to have an SNF discharge rate for psychoses Medicare patients below the Wisconsin state average. The other three hospitals, shown below, were Gundersen Health System - LaCrosse, SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital - Madison and University of Wisconsin Hospital.

A recent analysis conducted by Dexur of 2016 Medicare inpatient data from CMS found that there were two Wisconsin hospitals with index hospital readmission rates over 80%, Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - All Saints and Gundersen Health System - LaCrosse. Readmission rate to index hospital represents the proportion of patients who return to the same hospital as their original hospitalization. Although this metric is not necessarily reflective of the quality of medical care at a hospital, it may reveal truths about the patient population.
