A recent analysis conducted by Dexur found that 53.30% of length of stay (LOS) outliers at Kendall Regional Medical Center were due to 30-day readmissions, the highest percentage of LOS outliers from 30-day readmissions in the country. This was significantly higher than both state and national averages of 31.78% and 29.42%, respectively, for the same metric. LOS outliers are patients who remain admitted in the hospital for longer than the typical length of stay for that particular diagnosis-related group (DRG).
