Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center’s Rate of Discharges to Skilled Nursing Facilities is 13% Lower than California State’s Average in 2016

Dexur's recent analysis of CMS Medicare claims data for the year of 2016 revealed that Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center’s discharge rate to skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) was lower than the state and national averages by 13.24% and 9.81%, respectively.  Dexur identified Medicare inpatient discharges, discharges to SNFs, and the percentage of SNF discharges at the national, state, and individual hospital level.  SNF discharges are an important metric that healthcare professionals can use to determine the demographics of the population of patients a hospital serves, as well as the average state a patient is in at  point of discharge from a specific hospital.  Below is a graph highlighting the highest discharging categories at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and their percentage of discharges to SNFs compared to the state and national averages; all were significantly lower compared to the state and nation.
