Both Oncology and Hematology refer to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cancer and blood diseases, respectively. This is considered a specialty provider service, and is a very sensitive area of patient care, considering the severity of such conditions. The Dexur data team extracted the top 3 medical centers in California for oncology and hematology treatments - each of them making up over 2% of all Medicare inpatient discharges in the entire state, as seen below. Cedars - Sinai Medical Center ranked first, followed by University of California, San Francisco Medical Center and Stanford Health Care Medical Center.
