Dexur analyzed Oct 2016 to Sep 2019 Medicare claims data to rank hospitals by Revenue per Day for Stent Surgeries. Revenue per day is calculated by summing all Medicare revenue and dividing by the total patient days in the hospital. Optimizing for revenue per day can promote the triple aim of better care, better health, and lower cost. Since, revenue from Medicare is risk adjusted at the DRG level, fewer days in the hospital for a fixed DRG payment can lead to lower cost to the hospital (higher revenue per day) and better patient experience (fewer patient-days in hospital).
