Over the analyzed four year period, there were 617,923 DRG-683 discharges nationally, compared to 491,569 DRG-682 (Renal Failure With Major Complication or Comorbidity) discharges and only 107,856 DRG-684 (Renal Failure Without Complication or Comorbidity/Major Complication or Comorbidity) discharges.

Along with ranking first in volume for total renal failure discharges, Dr. Shetty also ranked 2nd in DRG-683 discharge volume, specifically, with 53 discharges. The only Georgia physician to account for more discharges than Dr. Shetty was Dr. Fazal, who reported 59 discharges. The third highest volume physician for DRG-683 was Dr. Thakore with 46 discharges, who was followed by Dr. Ahmad with 40.
