Dexur research shows that Dr. John C. Stevenson of North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville performed 819 spine procedures between 2013-2016, the most of any Florida physician. Dr. Constantine Toumbis ranked 2nd with 771 discharges while splitting time between Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center in Crystal River and Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness. These were the only two physicians in the state with over 700 spine discharges over the four year period. Dr. Richard A. Hynes of Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne ranked 3rd with 633 discharges, while Dr. James Paraiso of The Villages Regional Hospital, located in The Villages, ranked 4th with 529. Dr. Gary P. Colon of NCH Baker Hospital in Naples rounded out the top five with 504 discharges. No other Florida physician accounted for more than 500 discharges during the analyzed time frame.
