Dexur’s analysis of medicare claims of hospitals within a 10-mile radius of Morristown, NJ, showed that Morristown Medical Center had the best value outcomes over a 90 day episode for Hip and Knee Replacement, followed by Overlook Medical Center and Saint Clare's Denville Hospital. Dexur’s value analysis tracks a patient’s episode of care from the date of admission for 90 days and includes the index hospitalizations, rehospitalization, home health, nursing home, and ED costs. Total cost of care data helps patients make appropriate choices and helps local ACOs, such as Care Better ACO, L.L.C. and Healthcare Quality Partners, LLC, make appropriate referral choices. The analysis was risk-adjusted, for alive and non-hospice patients and was done at the DRG level, specifically DRG 470: Major Joint Replacement or Reattachment of Lower Extremity without Major Complication or Comorbidity (MCC), to adjust for complications and comorbidities.

Dexur’s analysts studied Medicare Claims data for revenue per day variance and found that Morristown Medical Center, NJ, saw an increase in its inpatient revenue by 15.74%, from $2,597 in Q3 2016 to $3,006 in Q3 2019. Morristown Medical Center’s revenue increase for the given time period is more than the national and state average. In the United States, the revenue increased by 17.13% from Q3 2016 to Q3 2019, with a revenue surge of $2,365 from $2,019. New Jersey had the 9th highest volume of Medicare inpatient discharges in the nation, accounting for 3.24% between October 2015 - September 2016.
