A county-wide study of Medicare Claims data for Florida conducted by Dexur presented the total users market share of Tidewell Hospice for the period 2016-Q2 to 2019-Q2. The insights enable hospice providers to better tailor patient care and plan operational growth strategies by offering a holistic understanding of referrals and affiliations.

The analysis revealed that in Sarasota County, the hospice clocked in a total of 1,151 users by the end of Q2-2019, making up for 90.49% of the market share. In fact, Tidewell Hospice recorded the highest number of users from Sarasota. In the second quarter of 2016, there were 1,032 users in Tidewell from Sarasota. And, by the end of 2019-Q2, Tidewell saw a 1% increase in the market share. However, the hospice had a marginally higher share in the first quarter of 2019, with 26 more users.

After Sarasota, the county of Manatee ranked 2nd on the list with 602 users in Tidewell Hospice, and the county of Charlotte, with 382 users ranked third. While the former accounted for 90.53% of the market share, the latter had a share of 84.33%. Lee County featured at the bottom with only 20 users in Tidewell, having a share of only 1.24%. In this particular county, Hope Healthcare enjoys the largest market share, with 1,417 users amounting to 87.63%.
